Speaker Biography

Dr. Doug Flora is an oncologist and executive clinical leader with over 20 years of experience, dedicated to ending cancer as we know it. He currently serves as the Executive Medical Director of Oncology Services at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Northern Kentucky. A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, he trained in internal medicine and hematology/oncology in Cincinnati. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of AI in Precision Oncology, the first peer-reviewed journal devoted to artificial intelligence in cancer care, and an author of Rebooting Cancer Care. An advocate for AI in cancer care, he speaks internationally on early detection and responsible AI adoption.

Dr. Jailan Elayoubi is a medical oncologist and hematologist at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and faculty in the Department of Oncology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. She earned her medical degree at the University of Alexandria in Egypt, completed her internal medicine residency at Beaumont Dearborn, and trained with a breast sub-specialty focus at Michigan State University. Her clinical studies focus on disparities in access to molecular testing and outcomes among patients of Middle Eastern background.

Kassi Saieed is medical oncology nurse practitioner at Duke Women's Cancer Care, part of Duke Cancer Institute, where she cares for patients with breast cancer from diagnosis through treatment and into survivorship. She earned her BSN through University of North Carolina (UNC) Chapel Hill's accelerated program and practiced as an inpatient oncology nurse before completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice. Working in conjunction with Dr. Vijay Paryani, her goal is to personalize treatment plans for every patient and focus on long-term quality of life for survivors.

Dr. Maggie DiNome is a Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology and Chief of the Breast Surgery Section at Duke University School of Medicine. She earned her BS at Yale and her MD at Duke, completed general surgery residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and trained in surgical oncology at UCLA. In her 25+ year career as a breast surgical oncologist, her clinical research has included an emphasis on de-escalating axillary surgery in node-positive disease while her translational research lab studies epigenetic modifications in breast cancer.

Dr. Vijay Paryani is a breast medical oncologist at Duke Women’s Cancer Center and an Associate Professor in the Division of Medical Oncology at Duke University School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados, completed internal medicine residency at the University of Kentucky, and served as Chief Fellow at a hematology-oncology fellowship at Wake Forest. Dr. Paryani's focus is the treatment and advancement of breast cancer care - actively engaging in the teaching and training of Duke oncology fellows, as well as serving as Principal Investigator on Clinical Trials. 

Dr. VK Gadi is Deputy Director of the University of Illinois Cancer Center, and Professor of Medicine and Director of Medical Oncology at the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Medicine. He completed his PhD and MD at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by internal medicine residency and a hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. A breast medical oncologist, his 20+ year career spans breast cancer, immunotherapy, and functional genetics in cancer target discovery.

Dr. Vincent Reid is a surgical oncologist and Medical Director of the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he also serves as Chairman of Surgery. He earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati, completed surgical residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, and trained in head and neck surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. His career reflects a commitment to translating elite academic training into exceptional patient care in the community oncology setting.
